How our daily pricing works (and why it's tied to Kalimati)

2026-08-12 · OrderSajilo Team · pricingguide

Nobody trusts a vegetable price they can't verify. That's why OrderSajilo's price list is rebuilt every single morning from a number anyone in Kathmandu can check: the Kalimati wholesale market rate.

The formula

Your price = Kalimati wholesale rate + 15–25% handling margin + flat delivery fee

The handling margin covers sourcing labour, grading, washing, packing and wastage. It varies by item — delicate greens cost more to handle than potatoes — but it is fixed per item and visible, not negotiated per customer.

Why prices are frozen at confirmation

When you confirm an order, the unit price on every line is locked. If the market moves overnight, that's our risk, not yours. Your invoice always matches what you saw when you ordered.

Why some mornings we open late

We won't take orders against stale prices. If the day's Kalimati rates haven't been published yet, ordering pauses until they are — usually minutes. It's a small delay that keeps every invoice honest.

Pay for what actually arrives

Wholesale supply is imperfect. If a line falls short — you ordered 10 kg of tomatoes and the morning's grade-worthy stock only covered 8 — your invoice bills 8 kg at the locked price. Shortfalls are flagged in the app the moment your delivery is packed.
